BedLetter

BedLetter is a Birmingham, Alabama based band formed by brothers Joe and Bill Ledbetter. Growing up in a tight-knit musical family with their Dad, Bud Ledbetter who plays anything with strings or keys and is an encyclopedia of American music, the brothers developed a love of music early in life. After years of ‘arm chair’ music theory and endless pickin’ sessions with Bud and other musician friends, the brothers started jamming in and around the Birmingham music scene in the mid 80s. All this time, they have been hosting weekly or biweekly jam sessions in various locations with an array of talented musicians. These musical celebrations, which are now tradition, have produced gig-worthy bands with a focus on originality. The current configuration may vary from gig to gig and is a musical Co-op of sorts and includes a rotating lineup of musicians from the extended Ledbetter Family. The typical BedLetter gig will always have unique original songs that tip a heavy hat to their primary influence, American Blues, but may also contain a wider variety of musical selections from the great American Songbook and beyond the shores to pay homage to some of their favorite British Blues Rockers as well. They have been known to do an electric set, followed by an acoustic set, and ending with a scorching set of Blues and Rock tunes guaranteed to send you home with your feet still moving!
