Over the last four or five years, using the iPhone and GoPro, I’ve manage to collect a bunch of random pictures and video footage of all sorts of things, including various critters and outdoor scenes. I started digging through all of these still shots and putting them together in video format to use as a visual accomplice for songs. Last year, I did a slide-show using some of these nature shots for the the song, Floating. Since I have a bunch of original music that’s either unfinished or lacking any lyrical theme, I figured combining the two would be a fun way to keep my audio and video editing chops in line while learning how to use the amazing video editor, Adobe Premiere.

Making the transition from iMovie to Adobe Premiere in the past couple of years has been a big leap for the old learning curve, and I’ve barely scratched the broad surface of capabilities for this professional tool. The latest installment is called, Critter Tube Part One and it features some footage of various critters that hang out around our house and nearby river and is set to an old song I wrote about twenty years ago called, Same Ol Same Old because it sounds like so many other melodies I write. This song was inspired by my hero and acoustic guitar legend Leo Kottke, and Like Leo, I’ve taken a lovely simple melody and driven into the ground. Hopefully the critters keep it interesting! Look for more musical critters and nature scenes set to music coming soon.

Hey! I couldn’t get the video to play. 🙁
    Maybe it’s my mobile device.

    1. Thanks for the heads up! I changed the settings in YouTube to allow embedding and that should have fixed it.
